Hey all,

I thought this would be fun to share....I calculated my average MPG over the last month and came up with 21 MPG. I do 95% of my driving on the freeway, which I'm sure is most of the reason its so good, but hell, thats great for a 12 yr old car putting 225 hp down at the rear wheels! :dancing6: If I cant go faster than the other guys, atleast I can go farther, lol. Anyone else track thier MPG?

Lets see here....295 miles on 5/6 of a tank..

maybe gotten 315 outta it...

315/15.5= 23.3

recently, i have been keeping my foot out of the gas around town, and coasting more ETC and it has REALLY saved me a lot of gas.

I have pulled 27.5 "on paper" average to and from work. (some hwy. some in town) I have done the
following items:

CAI system (for the smoother flow if nothing else)
cleaned MAF and temp sensors in intake tube w/ MAF cleaner
new "upstream" O2 sensors
new plugs & wires

other than that I keep an eye on the tire pressure
run the stock 3.27 axle
it is a 5 spd.

Not the fastest Mustang but I can pass a gas station!

mpg no longer becomes a thought once your blown

Boosting I probably get >10 mpg...

but my overall avg. mpg has been the same for a while...about 17-19 MPG average

The auto must kill a lot of MPG cause no matter what I do the thing struggles to pull 20 mpg.

when i worked down 40 in chesterfield i would drive 30miles roundtrip all highway i would get 26 out of a tank of gas just set cruise at 70 @ a cool 1900 rpms

You're putting down 225 to the wheels after a PI swap and tune? Damn, you better get it dyno tuned. I'm putting down 260.7 rwhp and 302.0 rwtq after I got tuned. And my mods are minimal (PI swap, K&N, 70mm tb, mid pipe, cat back, and XCal3 dyno tune). I get around 24-28 miles a gallon highway depending how I drive.

Thats not that bad since he has an AUTO. Thats in line with 99-04 Auto GT's. Maybe his tune is very conservative?

I was being conservative. I would put money on me being around 240-250ish rwhp, but I haven't had it up on the dyno since before the o/r H-pipe and tune. Plus my numbers have been historicly low compared to other members here on this site, so I've always gone with the most conservative guess. Are you driving an Auto or manual 96gt226410?

to really get an accurate guess, don't divide it by 15.5 gallons just because your tank is that big. Did you use the gas till you ran out? no

Best to put in your car. Let you car get to the half way mark of the gas gauge, fill up to the max them. Record your gallons you added. Reset the mileage button. Then calculate it again when its exactly half full again.
