Well....

I sent myself into credit card debt in January upgrading my suspension when my ball joints were going out...
I work for my dad, and he doesnt pay me durring the summer so he can give it to me in a lump sum.
Well, I got my lump sum. I got out of debt, and I spent 90% of it on my car (who wouldnt. my morgage is paid... let 'er rip!)
I got sub frame connectors installed last week... While they were installing those, they were supposed to track down the vibrations in my car at 60+MPH. they re-balanced my driveshaft and told me to get my tires rotated and balanced.
I got my tires rotated and balanced yesterday... now the vibration kicks in at 75+MPH.

I noticed my steering wheel wasnt centered, so i took it into the alignment shop TODAY... they said that my K-member is bent... they even showed me..... . . . >.<

FUUUUUG. im out of money and i got a bunch of parts for my project motor coming in...

I spent $800.00 to get my car .. . . just... Functional... and now my K MEMBER IS FU**ING BENT....
Im about to buy a DD and tear this thing to shreads and upgrade it as i slowly put it back together... im exhausted... tired of putting band-aids on everything.

That sucks man

Question though, if the damage to the k-member was so bad how did you not notice it when the SFCs were being put in or when you were doing suspension work?

This is the lesson of life, when you think you have gotten your head above water there is always the next wave to try to swamp you, its only up to you if you can get your head high enough above water..... Anytime I buy something I always make sure I have a back up if something happens, and I can make 2 months worth of payments if something big should happen...

just one question: If the vibration doesn't kick in until 75+mph, why would you stop driving it? Just know that you're good up to 75mph and stay under. Unless you see a lot of highway time in this car it shouldn't be a problem.

i have NO idea... i would think the shop might have noticed, but as for me... the kemember isnt really "bent" its "shifted." the bolts that hold the back side of it to the frame are maxed out on the passenger side (they have the ability to move forward and backward, these 2 on the passenger side are maxed out.) the driver's side is in the middle. (where they should be)

so, there is no way to tell outside of looking and comparing these four bolts.

if the bolts are shifted in the slot, can you not loosen everything up and just re-center them?
