I sold my 1997 Autumn Orange Mustang in central Texas at the end of 2012. I have always regretted getting rid of it. I have the VIN 1FALP42X9VF109609 and help will be greatly appreciated in tracking it down.100_2711.JPG

Download the mycarfax maintenance app. It's free. Enter your vin. You get to see service entries. Enter your own, etc. See below.

Pepboys could be a lead.

Cost money, but it will give you the name and address of the last person who registered the car. I used to have access for a few years when I worked a couple weeks for an insurance company, but they finally changed the password.

You can also go to the TX DMV and request a registration inquiry for like $2. I was able to reclaim my first love, after my folks sold it for parts in 1999. It had been sitting abandoned in a shop at Arlington TX for 8 years. Original mileage from the date of the accident still on the odometer. A guy saw it, and wanted to restore it for his son. Shop owner did not know who it belonged to, so he ran a vehicle inquiry on it via the DMV. It was STILL last registered to us, or rather, my father’s old company. So they were able to look up contact info, then faxed whatever number listed the inquiry.
