Well for some reason the coating on my rims has gone to crap, and they are peeling (considering the only thing that touches my rims are car soap/water, microfibers, and chrome polish...Definitely boggles my mind). Well anyways, once I get a new job and get some more money, I'll be getting my rims fixed. I just can decide if I want to get them re-coated the same color (Black Chrome) or if I should just get them done up Black. I ps'd a side view of my car...

Personally, I'm kinda leaning towards staying black chrome...very few people have them, and a lot still don't know what the color is...

What do you think??

Stay With Black Chrome...?

Or Just go Black?

I'm a fan of the black chrome and all but I gotta admit, the 03's in gloss wet black look sinister on your car. I'm torn. Good luck deciding!!

+1 Black chrome is awesome but I think the gloss looks better on your car

It's the break dust. It's very corrosive.

yea, but that wouldn't make much sense considering I wash my car a minimum of once a week. I don't let any dirt sit on my car...it's supposed to be a type of chrome, but chrome doesn't peel like my rims have...this is what they look like....

p.s. In this picture the wheel is completely clean...no brake dust or anything on them. There is a top coat that fades then 'peels' (you can see on the top left spoke where I scraped at it with my nail very easily) and then there is the chrome under that top coat. Rub the chrome too hard and that rubs off and then you see all the black spots on the face of the rim.....

Maybe a bad quality wheel/s?
Be different and switch to a silver or black wheel.
I'm not a big fan of chrome but, either way nice Cobra.

It doesn't take much break dust to do that when you combine it with a cheap wheel. yes, I say cheap, all of the AFS/ebay type wheels are made very cheap. I've had 6 set of wheels in 5 years and I've had issues with everyone one of them in one way or another. At this point I'll only buy expensive wheels and hope for the best.

lol actually I think everyone and their mother has black wheels on a black Cobra...I don't mind the look, although I always love to kinda be a little different.

BTW sxynerd -- true...they are not exactly ebay wheels, but they are cheap...wheel replica's. I'm planning on getting them powder coated and possibly cleared or something
