I knew the car had more in it. Big difference between my last time slips in july and it being high 80's and humid and today being cool over cast and in the 40's

There is still more in it. I'll have the 4.10's put in next spring and Im going to do some weight reduction ( K member A arms Remove the AC) and some better suspension along w/ some Long Tubes and a Fox TB set up. Hopefully those changes will get me 11's. Here is my slip from today. Right lane.

Dang, nice time! That's in the area of what I want to run, but just a tad bit faster(12.2-12.0). Reaction time seems high to me, My brother and I always pull .2xx or .1xx, Younger eyes maybe haha, J/k of course!

nice man keep getting the 60 ft down and traction and u will have low 12's, I bet with gears slicks and skinnies you will run high 11's n/a :)

yeah I plan on skinnies too.

I have MM LCA and Slicks but the weight transfer sucks b/c the car is so heavy and the suspension is not the best for drag racing. The car weighs 3,584 with me in it. Im dumping the clutch off the line at 5,000 RPMS it hooks, its just not trasfering the weight good b/c there is so much of it and b/c of the suspension. But Im going to do different shocks/struts, K member, A arms, remove the AC, Skinnies, FOX TB set up and Long tubes. Thats the plan for next year and the hunt for 11's..and get the 4.10's installed. Im only trapping at about 5,200 across the line.

I was gonna say your trap seemed low to @108, if you get it all setup you will be very happy with ur future 1/4 times, for example my friend had a nasty setup sn95 with a 347c.i and he ran a best of 11.7@118 n/a on slicks and skinnies


but very good man :headbang: I hope to get atleast mid to low 12's on reg tires on my 306,

Because Im crossing the line at 5,200 RPM's if that b/c the tuner said my tach is reading high as well. I would easly trap over 110 with more gear.

Don't take your A/C off. That's lame in a streetcar. The rest of the weight reduction sounds good though.

Don't listen to the modular fanboys. They're just bitter that they have puny little motors.

An ls1 powered car running 11s seems to be normal anymore....a 302/351 car running 11s is a little more rare but to be perfectly honest here I am a lot more impressed with 4.6's running 11s since it takes a lot of work to get one into the 11s n/a.

I dont think it depends on the motor when your still talking about an N/A Small block.No way Im not going to boost it. that takes all the fun out of it. If I did that now w/ the current compression it would be over 500 at the wheels and it would run 10's then Im done b/c there would be nothing else to aim for. Running 11's N/A is a good goal. I hate boost its nothing but problems more times then not as far as getting the tune right or head gaskets blowing. Ive done it before and I Dont care to go back to it. Staying N/A dont have to deal w/ belt slippage or supercharger rebuilds. IMO its ideal to have a strong hard running N/A engine.

Thanks paul, yes they are lol. I know you must think someone is nuts when they talk about removing the AC but its not really needed up here. I know your from AZ so its much more practical. As a matter of fact its been discharged since last june anyway when the cam was installed. I never needed it this summer. Its only really hot here a few weeks in late july or early aug. Its not my daily driver and my truck as AC. For my purpose the benefit of the weight reduction far outweighs the need to have the AC. Plus its so much more easy to work around in the engine bay w/ all that AC crap gone.

You silly modular guys :tongue3: Anyways, nice runs Venom, I would think with your mentioned suspension mods, you should get to your goal. What is your your set up now? except for the LCAs is it stock or set up for road racing?

Its all 95 Cobra R suspension. The R was set up as a handling road race car, not hardly a drag car. I dont want an all out drag car to begin with but I can deff do better then what I have now.
