I was told the NHRA/PSCA/large races are being cancelled, however the street legals will still be held.

For now they are going to allow street legals and junior dragsters but those will be gone too if we don't do something

Re: No more 1/4 in socal

That's some BS! I say everyone in socal should just go street racing through the neighborhoods that complained.

And socal is gonna definitely see a spike in street rating now cuz there is no longer a legal place to race at

Re: No more 1/4 in socal *update*

I guess we wont have to start a riot to change things
Famoso has already agreed to accept and carry over the points for PSCA. However Mel has not made an announcement on this. But sources at Famoso have confirmed they have accepted to have the PSCA there. No word on if it is actually going to move there or not.

Fontana has to build the sound wall. Here is the list of what WILL still be running at Fonatana. Street legals, JR drags, Antique nationals, NMRA/NMCA with True street and Bracket 3 open comp style bracket racing only as the 2 classes running.
Once they build the sound wall we will get the track back.

Doubt it. Based on my experience, the overlap between dumbass street racers and people that go to the track is small.

similar thing happend here we had a 1/8 mile track that has been here since the 60's or 70's .They built some new neighborhoods near it and people started complaining.
why move near a dragstrip if you don't like the noise anyways they closed the track and of course planed on building a neighborhood in its place . well guess what the soil was so contaminated with oil and other fluids they weren't allowed to build so now it sits empty for 5yrs now

Maybe thats just in Portland then. But quite a few people who run at the track here do a lot of running on the streets after the track shuts down at midnight

Yes, there certainly are some folks who do both. But typically, a bunch of morons who are going to go stoplight racing aren't going to stop simply because a racetrack is nearby.

Paul.
