I have beaten more than one PI GT in my slushbox NPI car. When I was bone stock, I beat a full bolt on, geared, and tuned 5 speed 03 one night, and beat him every time. I was trapping 73, he was trapping like 79 (which is still slow for a bolt on PI GT), and he was rarely getting into the 9s. I out ran a exhaust/geared auto 01 GT when I was full bolt on. They are overrated in my opinion. I love getting picked on by all the guys driving PI GTs, and then beating their a*s on the track (although I'll admit that driving ability has more to do with it than anything). My automatic car, with PI cams and intake, UDPs, and exhaust ran 14.1s on a day with so-so weather. Stock PI GTs that day were running 14.3-14.5. Add gears, slicks, TB/Plenum, and good weather, and I'd run 13.5s. Add a stall (or 5-speed), and I'd be low 13s. Same exact thing as well-driven PI GTs. Are they faster/put down more hp/run better times stock for stock? Sure. Absolutely. No debate there. Does it take much to make NPI GT to run with the PIs? No. It does not take much. PI cams and intake and it becomes a drivers race. Exhaust, gears, and other bolt ons and it still remains a drivers race. Now that I have the blower, it's even more fun for me now to surprise/beat them. :D
