so ive been wanting to paint my calipers red and today i decided what better day to do that! so i had a friend come over. we jacked up the car and set the jackstands on the front half, take apart the front brake assy. take the pads out of the caliper when one of them "breaks".(rivit came off) we spray the caliper and brackets with simple green then some engine brite. let them soak for a few min then srubba dub-dub. dry with a compressor and sand with some 100 grit. hang them by hangers and paint them a nice shiny red from duplicolor caliper paint. im looking at my front brake pads, the ones that "broke" and i call up my ford parts guy and tell him what happened and he says the warranty is up but if i come in when the manager is on luch he will replace them for free so i head down there and get my new brake pads for free! while im there im playing with the rivit and i get it back in its spot and its staying so as hes walking out with my new pads i quickly snap the rivit off,get my new pads and leave get home and the fronts are dry so we install them and then tape off the and paint them instead of removing them. one question where can i pick up some decent looking lugs for my car for cheap?
