Anyone here ever painted their timing cover? I'm getting a new one this week and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I understand most of it isn't seen, but it's not something you have off of the car often, so now's my chance if I wanna paint it. Also, the valve covers...what colors would you guys use?

I've seen a guy on Stangnet paint his whole block(block/t-cover) Ford Blue. It looks great, and you can eat off of his engine bay.

Just dont go overboard and start painting plastic parts like the valve covers and intake, then it will look bad lol.

Black, Black, Black, Black and Black. Some of the blues I have seen look ok but, its an engine. Or just get it super super clean and acid bath it and just put it back on.

well I'm not planning on painting the whole block. My current TC has a crack in it, hence the replacement. but in order to replace it, I need to remove the Valve covers and the oil pan. I plan on cleaning up the valve covers and recoating them in a smooth solid coat of black. And I'm torn between just really cleaning up the Timing cover, or painting it all black as well...kinda think it would look weird though, with just the front black and the rest satin grey...
