I just got back from the parts store here in holland where I went to ask for some general maintenance items for my car..

This was the guys reaction: hmm... a Ford Mustang eh?.... :confused1:
Nope, can't find any parts. Not even wiperblades..
"I suggest you go to the Ford Dealership"

HELL NO.. tried that a few times with the probe and they almost kicked me out. "We don't have stuff for that 'imported crap'" :BangHead:

so I decided to use summitracing, and I have a few things in my cart that I would like to have dubble checked by you guys, because if they're the wrong parts, it's a waste of money and shipping.

Are these the correct parts for my 1994 5.0? (stock belt with A/C and smog and everything)

correct belt length?

Thanks!

the correct belt for a smog delete is 89", so i believe you may have to short of a belt.

Surely, there are a lot of U.S part suppliers that would have no problem shipping parts to the Netherlands.

i find it hard to believe that there isnt a no thrills auto parts store over there that would carry something as generic as an oil filter, and spark plugs for an american car. you could walk into any generic parts store over here and get plugs and filters for something uncommon (for us), like a Fiat or Opel. its not like we over here only carry parts for (our) domestic cars.

but then again, ive never been overseas.

Depends on the make, age & rarity of the car. The Fiats & Opels can be tough sometimes.

The ones that kill me are the "collectable" American Motors cars of the '60's & '70's. You can get some engine/chassis parts, but when Chrysler bought out AMC in the early '80's they destroyed nearly all of the acquired AMC molds & dies. NOS/reproduction interior/body parts are right at impossible.

i was just saying that as an example, since theyre not like a Civic, or a Jetta, where you'll see more here in one day, than you can count.

i mean, im sure in europe, theyre not as crazy about our cars (mustangs/camaros/etc), as much as we are about theirs. but you would think you'd be able to walk into any parts store and get a general part like plugs and oil filters, for most any popular car around the world. granted youre probably not going to be able to walk into a parts store overseas, and buy heads for an american car, right off the shelf (not that you can do that here, unless youre at a specialty shop), but still, you would think they'd at least have oil filters and spark plugs.

I bought the smog pump delete that has the pulley, so you still use your stock belt. Sorry, that's all I know about this stuff. Is there no auto parts stores across the pond over there? I'm used to just going & picking this stuff up! Never knew anyone that had to order these parts.

there are parts stores.. that's where I was and where I normally go to.. I suppose I could drive to some specialist, but it seems easier to just order them, so I can choose brands myself.
I'm still unsure about the belt length though

I believe it, holland/europe generally thinks american cars are gas guzzelers, and we waste money on them.
Props to you Dutch!

you will probably pay more online than you will, getting it in the store, especially when youre dealing with shipping overseas. unless that doesnt bother you.

That's why I'm shipping everything at once... You gotta pay to play. I knew this when I bought a mustang, I had mostly the same problems with the Probe.

Anyway thanks 1STOF, but I don't have a smog delete, I need the stock belt size, WITH A/C, smog, everything.
