From what Nick at MHS has said the PI valve has a thicker margin on the valve compared to that of the NPI and aftermarket valves and gives less clearance and thats why some get PTV when not degreeing them in. Many guys have run the VT/CMS stage 1's with no issue at all and thats a set of cams that will get you a solid 25rwhp. The problem people have with the Comps is they were grinding a 4-5* advance in their off the shelf cams and guys were not degreeing them and thats where the stigma came from. I have used the Comp 262 and 270 on my car but they were used with ported heads and aftermarket valves.</blockquote>
