The car's only mods that I knew of were a flowmaster cat-back and k&n CAI. However, I noticed that my car seemed a little bit louder than most stangs with cat-backs. When I looked under my car to check the mid-pipe I saw that it was a stock mid-pipe however the last 2 cats on each side had been deleted and replaced with piping. I'm also confused as to why the car has not brought up a code for this. The only code so far has been for the evaporation system whcih still needs to be fixed. I know the stock h-pipe comes with 6 cats on it all together. However I was told that the first two smaller ones on each side are actually called pre-cats and are more of a resonator. I was just wondering because although the previous owner cut out the 4 rear cats he left the front two small pre-cats. are these pre-cats actual converters or just resonators? I live in NJ which has strict emission laws so if my car has no real converters ill need to purchase some for inspection.
