Well today was a busy day. I pulled my t45 to be shipped to the t45 source for a street level rebuild. I couldn't get it into 1st or 3rd, think the syncros were to blame. This was my first time pulling a trans and I'm lucky I had my buddies to help me, it wasn't too bad, but they saved me a ton of time. Getting the top two bolts off the bellhousing was the trickiest part, but we knocked it out in 2 days over about 4-5 hours. I've been busy with the car the last few weeks. Put new front brake rotors, and Hawk pads on a couple weeks ago, it stopped great up until the trans started going out. I also put in a firewall clutch cable adjuster in this week. I ordered a bunch of paint and I'm gonna see if I can fix some of the paint problems on the car too.
I'm on the right

I also found out that the car has a speedcal, but I think it has 4.10 gears, not the 3.73s I was told it had. I forgot to spin the driveshaft and check, but either my speedo is off, or its 4.10s because I top out 4th at 112ish, and I read that 3.73s in a t45 should be good for 122mph and 4.10s would be 112mph at the top of fourth.

those top two bolts can be a pain! I chose to pull the tranny with my engine just to avoid screwing with those!
I can see how that may be easier!! Those two stalled our progress for a while. We managed to use a small 1/4 inch 13mm ratchet on the top driver side bellhousing bolt, and about 2 feet worth of extensions and a swivel impact socket on the passenger side top bolt. It was a major pain, and that was after we raised the engine up and dropped the tail of the trans to get a little more room to work in. I'm not looking forward to putting it back in.

Today I pulled my Ram hd clutch and pressure plate, when I bought the car I was told it also had a Ram billet aluminum flywheel, well that was a lie. I pulled the clutch and was surprised to find a stock flywheel! I am pretty mad I was lied to.

Now I'm trying to decide flywheel to get, but I'll probly just go ahead and buy a new Ram aluminum flywheel, undecided on which one I should get so any recommendations would be appreciated.

Stock clutch!

I sadly have had to pull my t45 multiple times now and I have found that if you pull the trans crossmember first, while supporting the trans with a jack, you can let the trans down some and get to the top bolts much easier. I use about 2 feet of 1/2" drive extensions with a swivel socket on the end and its not to bad at all. Now putting the trans back in on the floor by yourself is another issue( I dont like to wait for help).

Yeah thats pretty much how I got it out, but I had help. Can't imagine putting it back in alone! I'm thinking its gonna be a big pain to get everything lined up going back in, any tips on re-install?

Put a jack under the front of the engine on the balancer and gently tilt the engine back when you are ready to put the trans back in. You are only trying to rock the engine back towards the firewall not lift it, so it is not going to hurt anything.

Hi, I have a '96 Cobra and was thinking about sending the T45 to the T45 Source for a street heat rebuild. I was wondering how yours turned out? thanks for any feedback!
