I removed the powerdyne charger from my Mustang and I notice the crank pulley there are 2 of them with Ford part numbers on it. I thought it would be a powerdyne crank pulley but it is not. The big pulley is the charger pulley and there is a spacer with another pulley that goes together. The pulley on the right is that the factory 5.0 crank pulley? There are part numbers on them the big pulley for the charger Ford part# F2UA-6312-CA and the smaller one behind it is F4ZE 6A312AA. Which of these would be the factory crank pulley?

the flat one is the stock pully. the one with the cup shape and spacer are for the powerdyne.

i think these powerdyne kits use a factory fox crank pully, thats why there is two ford part numbers. I could be wrong but they look aweful similure.

From the first picture the pulley on the right is the Ford SN pulley.

Those thick spacers on the bolts are those factory or part of the blower kit?

Thanks! I got everything removed but there is no factory bracket to hold the alternator in place. In a few weeks I will be getting a vortech s-trim and wondering do I need the factory mounting bracket for the vortech? I'm thinking no. Also are these long bolts and spacers part of the factory mounting bracket or just for the powerdyne supercharger?

all of the sleeve spacers on long bolts are related to the powerdyne kit. i have no clue weather or not the vortec kit uses the factory alt mount. someone with a vortec could probably chime in a help there. but alas i only have a measly powerdyne so my knowledge is limited to what i know from hands on experience.

good luck with the upgrade, what are you doing with the powerdyne kit?

The vortech setup should come with a new bracket (actually two) for the alternator and supercharger. One is an aluminum bracket (looks similar to stock), and the other is 1/2-3/4" steel plate. The bolts that hold the vortech aluminum bracket to the block are SHORTER than stock, so I would save those bolts from the powerdyne kit and see if they will work. I know from trial and error trying to bolt the bracket to the head and bottoming out and still showing 3/4" of thread left... That's what I get for buying a used kit i guess... about 5 runs to the hardware store on the vortech setup ALONE.. but its all good now. ha. Good luck

No you don't need it.. I did the same swap you doing right now.. All the bolts with spacers go.... The alternator will move back up to the top.. You will gave to reclock it.. That way the plug will sit back on it's normal position..

I removed the alternator and there is a plate bolted to the head along with a long bolt that holds the alternator. Just want to make sure the plate along with the bolt is part of the powerdyne charger? Also for reclocking the alternator, where should the factory connector be set at? Does the connector get moved by the top ear of the case?
