Hey guys, I'm looking into going on and doing the pi swap here in a couple months and since i already have all the stuff basically.. heads/cams/intake... I gotta get some head work done before though ... magfluxed, slight shave to get good sufface, new seals... maybe a new valve job/guides... if they need it.

My question comes in since i have to remove the crank pulley i have a used set of march underdrives with the one piece crank pulley... well they look like shit ... i was wondering if there are places that will maybe clean them off and put a new powdercoat on them? and is this ok? will it have any bad effects?... this is mainly b/c the crank pulley looks rough ... lots of nicks and shit...

Just give me your opinions guys. I would do this asap but i gotta pay some money back since the tranny went out a couple months ago. thanks

Mitchell

There are places, I'm sure you could even find one locally.I don't think that heating that pulley is wise though.

Probably annodised, powdercoating is tougher. I don't have any idea what heat a crank pulley can withstand, you could call and ask them, or just try it and find out.

If it anno'd, over cleaner would strip it. The pure eat your skin kind of oven cleaner. Then you could polish it and clear coat or or whatever.

Did it mauled from the puller? I would just try to smooth it a bit, but if it has like gouges in it, I would just knock the edges down and leave it be.
