I want to do hci combo on my 94 cobra. I was thinking of the trick flow top end kit. I want to make the most power I can without having driveabilty issues. Also I have a 2,500 budget. Thanks for the info.

I made 328rwhp 337rwtq on a set of AFR 165 heads (they are already sold), gasket matched Performer intake (its for sale), and a custom cam by Jay Allen (its also sold).

If I were to do it over again there is no way I WOULDN'T take the motor out and notch the pistons. Its a piece of cake to get the motor out of the car! I think you should go with some AFR 185s and a RPM II intake. That would be a very good running car. Id also give AFM a call and talk to Brian and have him set you up with a camshaft.

made almost same # with ported e7 SBC valves and ported lower gt40 intake. 1.6 rockers with E cam saved 1000's of dollars.

If your car is authentic cobra I'd keep it cobra. Original as possible for future. If i ever had a cobra i'd keep it stock

You've lost your damn mind if you think a set of ported E7 heads, GT40 intake, and a E303 cam will make 320+rwhp and 330+rwtq!

yea with ported to hell E7's and an E-cam and gt-40 intake you might make 235-240 at the wheels max. Hell bigger aluminum heads and better intake and cam setups rarely get 290 at the tires and thats all better stuff. Go with big heads(big are good) Like 205cc and a decent but streetable cam like an XE264HR, and a nice intake and you will hit close to 300 if not right at it.

Only problem is stock 5.0 Cobras are boring and slow as ballsack. It's not like a head/cam swap isn't reversible anyways if you ever needed it back to stock for some silly reason.

For the record, my 95 put down 230hp and 300ft/lbs tq at laroccas with a cold air kit, bbk shorty headers, and some welded in flowmasters. of course it was a piece of crap and if I moved the fuel pressure just a little bit it started to ping

wow I can't believe I've had my car this long and it still runs hahahah

I made 251 RWHP with GT40 Iron heads, GT40 Intake, and stock GT cam - and that is through an AODE, not a stick.

9/10....Aluminum Heads, Intake, and cam make 300 RWHP.

Wrong.

Bigger is not always better - a 205cc head in a 302/306 motor is a mistake.

A 205 head is more for a 331/347 motor. That is way way to much air for a 302/306 combo to even work well. Those heads are not even going to start making power until the 302/306 is around 3500 RPM - 7000 RPM.

remember making power is about efficiently moving air threw the motor. You can throw together a hci setup with stuff you picked out of a catalog with no research and it will make 280 hp. Or you can run some numbers ask around and find things tht work together and make 330.

I dont think youd be dissapointed with the Trick flow setup. Everyones advice ultimately depends on what YOU want to do with the car, not what people think you should do. Ask a hundred people and youll probably get a hundred different responses. If you just want more power in a pretty complete package, the Trickflow setup is definitely good for this. Eliminates a lot of guesswork. That setup and a 3.55 or 3.73 rear gear will make the car seem like a whole new beast. And again, everyone has more opinions on rear gears but Im going based off what Id run. Whether you go with an out of the box setup or a custom array of pieces, either way you cant go wrong.

The Trick Flow top end kit is a very nice package at a good price. You could not piece together a H/C/I and other supporting parts that come in the kit for that price. All the parts will work great together.
