I've ordered new rotors and pads. Going with race pad front and rear this time, away from race pad front street pad rear setup. I've been hearing a lot of good things about CarboTech pads, and decided to try their combination on my car. Ordered plain rotors front and back, and XP12 pads in the front with XP8 pads in the rear. The reasoning for the CarboTech came from several of my GTA friends having plenty of success with those pads, and the pad dust is not corrosive unlike most of the race pads, which means that it can be simply wiped off with a rag, without damaging the wheels. I am also planning on yanking some weight off the car, by gutting the trunk completely, possibly removing the rear seat, and most likely removing smog pump, since the car is not street legal anymore, and I don't drive it anywhere. Another idea I had was trimming some of the inner layer of the factory hood, since that could take some weight off. Factory fiberglass is very thick, and if you trim off the center section, it could add up to pretty good savings, taking it to almost the weight of some of the aftermarket fiberglass hoods. I'll try it first on my spare hood, and if successful, I will apply the changes to factory piece as well.</p></blockquote><p></p>
