Hey everyone this is my first post of needing help... So can anyone help me... OK this is whats going on...

lately i was driving my car normally and i was letting my girlfriend drive it for a first... :violent1: shes scared of it because ''its too fast'' but while she was driving it not even giving it alota petal I started hearing this knocking right when i heard it i called AAA to tow it. took it apart then took off my valve covers and i saw a broken push rod! :BangHead: but orderd a new set of compcams pushrods and then orderd a new set of roller rockers put everything together and now im hearing this tapping noise sounds like its hitting my valve covers took it to a shop and they also said it sounds like it but it never did with the crane cam rollerrockers i had on and they are the same size... And i have high rise TrickFlow valve covers... any way i can check if that is it for sure or... what can i do.. thanks for all your help!!!

aftermarket roller rockers are often noisy and sound as though they are tapping but they are not. Just something else to consider. I have the Ford Motorsport tall valve covers w/ Trick Flow 1.7 rockers and mine dont hit but I do hear them as if they were tapping, well I did when it had the stock cobra covers on I dont notice it as much now.

The thing is before my psuhrod broke it didnt sound like this..... i can actually feel the the difference if i put my hand on the drivers side valve cover than the passinger side valve cover but if i take the valve covers off i have that big trickflow air intake where i cant start it because its off

I have tall ford racing valve covers with a girdle on top of my rockers, and I don't have a problem...How "tall" are your valve covers? Measure the highest point on your rockers and then add like a 1/4" to 1/2" or more if you like for the size of the ones you need...Are you running a spacer on your intake for clearance? If not then you will need a spacer and an extension on your egr tube....It's a biatch......Good Luck

did you use a different valve cover gasket? Maybe it was just that tight....The spacer goes between the upper and lower intake...good luck

First I would check the hight of your rockers to see if it is even possible for them to be hitting the valve covers. If it is close, then see if you can find a thicker gasket for it and maybe you won't have to get different valve covers.
