i first posted on this forum about 2 months ago when i bought a 1996 cobra convertible identical to the one i owned at the turn of the century -- it was simply awesome to get back in a mustang again -- one of my first projects was to put a new dash unit in -- which i finally accomplished -- about a week later, a young lady who apparently had other things on her mind -- plowed into me as i was getting ready to execute a u-turn and totaled the cobra. i simply couldn't walk away from having a cobra -- so i found a 2001 convertible and bought it -- and i am trying, yet again, to get the dash unit installed on this cobra-- using a metra 70-5701 harness -- bottom line is that the dash unit won't come on either in accessory or running -- fuses looked to be OK -- the red wire has 12+ V in accessory or running -- but the yellow wire (standard +12v hot all the time) has only 0.47v -- measured at the input to the aftermatket radio and also as the input from the OEM radio cables to the metra harness -- my conclusion from that is that he problem is outside the radio because the required voltage is not entering the new radio circuit. appreciate any thoughts/guidance on where to look to try and figure out what is pulling down the voltage -- it occurs to me that i have had both battery cables off and i need to go back and make sure i didn't muck something up in removing/reinstalling the cables. many thanks -- larry
