Well I'm posting this for a friend of mine. He runs a head shop here in Denver.

He sent out some used FRRP Cobra Heads ($3,000) to a company for a CNC run. Well the company had the wrong CNC program uploaded and it LITTERALLY drilled THROUGH the side of the head. They called him and said that they would weld it and send it back.

My friend said that that was unacceptable because he sent the heads in perfect condition (freshly cleaned, fully functional, fully disassembled) and he should get nothing less than a perfect set of heads back. The problem is that these are the FRPP FR500 heads (or something along those lines) if they were a set of PI heads, he said it wouldnt have been such a big deal. He (and his customer) didnt want a 1,000 horsepower motor with a welded head....

They told him there was nothing they could do. They welded it, CNCed it again, and mailed them back without a refund.

My friend is now stuck with buying his customer brand new FRPP heads and having all the work re-done on them. ($5,000.00)

Although he can sell the welded heads, it will only be a fraction of the final cost.

please avoid:
Ford Performance Solutions
Pacific Performance Parts/Products
Advenger Cylinder Heads
(They are all sister comapanies run in the same building.)

Man i would be extremely pissed this need to forward to all mustang sites. They messed up the heads so they should have to pay for new heads and having them reworked :angry7:

lol, when i was writing it was thinking that too. lol. lmao.

It wouldnt be so bad if they were worthless heads... like 302 heads. or PI heads. or NPI heads. lol!! but the FR500s or whatever they are, its a big deal...

Welding it doesn't really hurt anything. Have you guys ever seen all the welding on Top Fuel blocks and cylinder heads? They blow 'em up all the time, then weld them back together. They still hold 8000 horsepower.

Still, that sucks that it happened though.

Paul.

True, but if it were my heads... and I was putting them on my car... and I didnt have a race-car sponsor to pay for my motor when it explodes, i would want nothing but the best. In this case, the heads might work perfectly fine, but the customer is getting something he doesnt want.

Its like ordering a BigMac and getting Chicken McNuggets... sure McNuggests will satisfy your hunger, but damn that BigMac sounded good....
