If you don't have a problem with the clutch, I don't see a need to replace it. I'd put that money into some lowering springs.

Well see my car has 93,xxx miles and it's running the stock clutch, tob, all that goodness. So considering I'll be in there I might as well knock it out to prevent going back in anytime soon

If you do decide to buy that, don't forget to use the coupon code that's posted in the sponsor section of the forum. I ordered my wheels and tires from them yesterday and forgot the coupon code when I ordered. it was a $1400 order too, so I contacted them after I placed the order and paid. They refunded back $70 of my money. Very nice guys. They shipped my order same day too!

If I get it which most likely will I may just drive down and get it so since they are only 1 1/2hr from me, I love going to their store.

I beat my car pretty hard and though I don't have gears or a tune I still have a stock clutch and Im at nearly 120,000 without any slipping at all, it's just soft but still runs fine, just did alittle run to 110 earlier tonight without a single problem. Each shift was around 5,000rpms, as I honestly don't think my car is in anything close to being called a power band after that LOL. This car is also my DD

I thought it would, given I have a brand new clutch sitting in my garage waiting for the time this one decides to go, which I dont believe will be anytime soon as it has never slipped or done anything wrong! I wouldn't worry about it man, just keep your fluids up to par!

yeah I wouldn't worry about it man. unless you hear screeching and see smoke... lol.
But it's only $160 to have a new clutch. Since he's going to have it all apart anyway, I'd much rather spend $160 and have peace of mind, knowing the clutch is new. That being said, my factory clutch lasted 125,000 miles. Still, you never know when it will start giving trouble.

I mean, you could make the argument that if you could receive a bad clutch too. if I wasn't having any problems i'd wait until it started slipping to order a new one. whatever ya wanna do though jonesy, your money

Jones, can you install this clutch yourself?
If you can that will save you some money but keep in mind you will also have to machine the flywheel, possibly replace the pivot stud, pilot and throw out bearings. not to mention if you are going to do all that you might as well get new fluids and maybe even a clutch quadrant cable and adjuster

car 220
phone 150
clutch 150
tob and pilot 70
machine fly 30 (idk?)
fluids 50
pivot stud 25
cables/ adj 100
----------------------
So you're looking at spending roughly $795 give or take, including your phone and car, out of your $870. Dosent leave alot of extra money on the table..

IMHO id buy the big parts with this check (clutch, quadrant cable, and tob) and buy the rest with another.

Just trying to be the voice of reason here..

Although I just hit 100k on my 2000 gt and I am on stock clutch (i think..) with 3.73's and alot of fast driving. Clutch is still good and has never slipped.

if your clutch isnt failing, i wouldnt replace it.

upgrade your brakes, upgrade to a PI swap, upgrade to at least a PI manifold, upgrade the headers, upgrade the driveshaft, buy a n2o kit.

clutch is one thing I'd suggest leaving until it gives you isses.
