Message: <blockquote data-quote="OnyxCobra" data-source="post: 1117986" data-attributes="member: 8293">the downfalls with the short belt are you don't get as good of belt tension from your tensioner because a lot less of the belt is in contact with it and also you can have problems with the belt coming off.  My belt didn't start coming off till after the supercharger but i did have problems with it squealing at start up and also i had my belt so tight to keep it in place that the tensioner would make a knocking sound at idle because it would be bottoming out.  After all that I wish i had just gone with the smog delete pulley in the first place.  I mean shit, a new belt and a smog delete pulley are about the same price anyways.  and if it doesn't work for you and you have to buy the delete pulley anyways then you're out the money for the new belt regardless.  I wish i had done it right the first time but thats just my 2 cents.</blockquote>
