If you choose to remove the smog pmp and the piping then just get a shorter belt.
But don't forget to plug or cap off the hose connection at the h pipe.

That thing is a ***** to get rid of too, I'd just plug it in if there's a hole for it. At least when I did mine

I'd personally recommend just getting a smog delete pulley and running the stock belt the stock routing. Yes if you get rid of the smog pump you need to plug the hole in the back of each head and also cap the hole on the midpipe; assuming it has it which they usually do.

I used a 90 1/8" belt. You'll need to adjust the routing too. Just keep the smooth side next to smooth pullies and the grooved next to the grooved pullies.
A delete pulley just seems silly when a shorter belt can be used. But that just me.

Bingo shorter belt i think delete pullies are retarded and a waste of money and time . I threw all my smog junk away years ago because I can pass emissions with out that crap

I was wondering about being able to pass the sniffer without the smog pmp. I thought it would because the pmp is used to assist in heating the cats up faster at start up.

the downfalls with the short belt are you don't get as good of belt tension from your tensioner because a lot less of the belt is in contact with it and also you can have problems with the belt coming off.

My belt didn't start coming off till after the supercharger but i did have problems with it squealing at start up and also i had my belt so tight to keep it in place that the tensioner would make a knocking sound at idle because it would be bottoming out. After all that I wish i had just gone with the smog delete pulley in the first place.

I mean shit, a new belt and a smog delete pulley are about the same price anyways. and if it doesn't work for you and you have to buy the delete pulley anyways then you're out the money for the new belt regardless. I wish i had done it right the first time but thats just my 2 cents.

I'll see if I can get a pic of it tomorrow.
I'll have to remove my standard belt and put on the shorter one. should'nt take long though.
I also ran the short belt for a few months without an issue or squeak.
