I saw that American Muscle now has smoked OEM style tail lenses, which is awesome. But I dont think it'd look right without the other 3 rear lenses smoked too. Is there any good aftermarket companies who make smoked OEM style side markers and a 3rd brake light? I havent been able to find any from places like AM or LMR..

if your looking to smoke your lenses and third brake light I recommend just doing some VHT Nightshade's spray cost between $9 - $11 a can instead of spending about $30 plus shipping on sidemarker's and about $50 on a 3rd brake light...

True, how good is that stuff? I dont want them super dark, just darkerrr than the bright red stock. If it doesnt look perfect, I wont like it, and I'm probably not the greatest at tinting my own lenses. lol

it's spray! and pretty easy to do! a few light coats should give you the look and effect you are lookimg for! if you dont think you can do it buy a couple of cheap lenses at the auto parts store and practice on those first, that way you wont ruin your lenses!!! The good thing is that it's a spray the less coats the lighter they will be the more coats the darker they will be...

here is a pic of my old 95 with the lenses tinted w/ nightshades...

I had Justin Schmidt tint my tail lights. I also sent him my side markers to do. I have a 3rd brake light sticker, so I didn't have that done.

the vht turns from a gloss to a flat after some time in the sun. I went to a local auto paint supplier and they sold me a black candy and a good uv clear and they look just as good as new now 2 yrs later.

yeah, thats the other thing. I live in AZ, the sun destroys things out here, especially parts on cars. There are plenty of places that will do a candy and clearcoat, but I daily drive my car, I'd have to buy an extra set of lenses to get that done.
I was hoping to get lucky and find some aftermarket tinted side markers and 3rd brake light..

if u have a paint gun you can buy some clear and the smallest amount of black base you can buy. get the clear and add a couple of drops into the clear doesn't take that much. you can choose how dark or light you want it. spray a couple of coats on there and if u like it extra shinny spray some clear(regular) over it when it flashes. and presto you got awesome tail lights!

I'm very satisfied with the way mine came out. Really easy, and I'm no painting whiz I assure you. I just put on plenty of coats and then wetsanded to 2000 grit until I had the shade I desired.
