I know im going to get flamed for this one but. It is what it is. I love the modulars, escecially the 4v. I found a really good deal on a 04 mach 1 engine/trans combo with the engine wiring harness and computer.

I am wondering how complicated it would be to pull this tired ole 5.0 out of my 95 and replace it with the 4v.

I know I need to swap to a 96-98 tubulat k member with motor mounts, and get a speedo cluster out of a 96-98 cobra. Other than fuel line routing and wiring harness nightmares, what else can I expect?

am I better off selling this 95 and buying a 4v cobra/mach?

I like the 5.0 dont get me wrong. I have built a dozen of them and my 83 makes some insane hp with a 347 that I built, But I like how smooth the modulars run, and they are way more efficient, and get way better gas mileage ( not that it really matters, but they do )

anyone done this swap or know where I can find information?

ive seen this done on many foxbodies, and I know there is modularfoxmustangs.com but they dont cater to the sn95.

any help would be appreciated, opinions are welcome too.

sell your car. you would basically have to swap over most of the body harness, since it is OBD2. you would either have to go to manual brakes or switch to hydroboost/power steering. and the Mach motor has returnless style fuel lines, so you would need either to switch to that or modify some 96-98 Cobra rails to fit the mach motor.

Selling your car and buying another is def the best bet to have a 4V if you're starting with a 5.0L.

sell it and buy a 4v car. not worth the time and effort. at the very least, buy a 96-98 cobra

Good idea on selling and buying a car with a 4v in it already. If you where gonna do a swap I would have done a termi swap. But, then again for the cost and time involved I would have went with 4 bolt main based build.

www.modularfords.comhttp:// has a whole section on modular conversions. There are a ton of people with 2 tons of expirience with this swap. When I run into issues that is where I go for tech help. They are a good bunch of guys over there. Not as good as here, but a good bunch.

But here is my 2 cents, since I am doing the swap. If you are serious about it, get a parts car. You will have everything you need. Also if you think it will cost you 5k to do the swap, be prepared to spend 10k. My budget was 15k and I think that I am going to need more. There is nothing cheap about this. If you do it peice meal it will cost you more than getting a parts car.
