Picked up a 06 Mazda 6 Mazdaspeed. It's a 6sp 2.3 Turbo AWD. This thing hauls some massive balls. I am throughly impressed with it. I have been browsing the Forums for mods for this. I was going to try and keep it stock but the mod bug i think has gotten me already. I already have a Downpipe planned for it once i get everything checked out tomorrow for the last time under the 50K Warranty. Anyway here are the pics...... There only cell pics for right now.

ive had the privlage of driving a couple of these.. getting into it, im thinking, hope this isnt as lame as a 3... well its not.

these are pretty sweet, and smooth. though quick, they arnt speed demons, i get alot of of these trying to race me aswell, and they obviously lose.

Very nice! Looks like you didnt go for a WRX huh?

No matter, I think the MazdaSpeed is a halluva nice car... They can be really quick with some work also..

You still have the GT also right?

Nope the Speed 3 is a FWD car and mine is AWD. Yes mine is heavier but it feels sturdier. I will say this i haven't had the chance to play with any stangs but i would put it up against a 99-04 PI and would have to say that it would hang pretty even if not pull on it on the top end. This as i said is a heavy car weighing in at 3600 lbs. Oh and to add when you say A lot you do know there were only 8000 brought over from japan. So unless a lot of people loaded up on them there you might not be talking about the Speed 6

There were no WRX or EVO's around here that just hadn't been treated like crap, None were stock. I wanted a stock platform so i knew there were no gremlins. The guy that owned this before me was in the Navy had all of his Service done at the Dealership i went to Yesterday to have everything checked out at.

Yeah they can be really quick with just some simple bolt on's like a Downpipe, Tune and a Catback then the little things like Short Ram intake and TIP (turbo inlet pipe) Less than a grand and you can get into the mid 12's with them.

I do still have the 94 GT i have to yank out the tranny again due to a bent 5th gear selector rod.

yeah as i said just a sec ago just none were stock. Around here with the Largest Naval base in the world a lot of sailors and military pass through here and it seems they will snag the WRX and EVO up spend there deployment money on it and then get rid of it.

Word.

i do believe this car could "obviously" run with a mustang with no problem at all. it has 274hp and is awd. lighter then a mustang i would think.
I don't think this is a car a mustang could just walk on.

I think you made a better choice going with something like what you chose. I've been considering trading/selling my car for something else for a while now, and at first, I was considering something like a WRX, but then I quickly came to the realization that I don't wanna drive around for the next number of years in cars that make me feel like I'm a teenage kid just trying to go fast. I'm not one to enjoy excessive luxury (as I feel like the interior in our mustangs is comforting enough for everyday use), but I would like a car that feels like it has a little class to it to say the least. So I've turned my focus towards cars like an Audi TT, G35, and some Lexus'. Most of those cars, as long as you can settle with something that has 40-50k miles on it already, are all in affordable price ranges seeming to sit right around 10-17k, assuming you don't need something that's as new as a 2008 or so.

I've been coming really close to pulling the trigger on a TT MK1 Quattro lately. I've seen a few 03's and 04's with roughly 45k miles on them for sale for around 10-12k, and I think as long as it wasn't beaten to hell by previous owner(s), it would be a great car for the money.
