anybody think a stock replacement clutch will hold for one night of thrashing with slicks and nitrous in my car? specs are below. there's a KC clutch in it now but it only lasted 3 races before i blew through it, i'm just looking to throw something in for a one night show.

i once ran into a problem with an autozone pressure plate and clutch.... well when i bought my car the guy included them..i put them in and i couldnt put it in third gear if i can remember all it did was keep grinding and grinding so i took the transmission off and looked at everything and found that the pressure plate fingers or teeth or whatever you call them were opened too high and i installed a ford clutch and pressure plate and that fixed my problem

I can't believe you're willing to do this work for 1 night.

Buy a real clutch that will take that abuse over and over.

I have an 89 dollar clutch from O Reiley that has about 10 passes on it and is holding onto my 450 turbo charged ft lbs no problem.

i don't know, most times on T&T nights you might get 4 to 5 runs in, sometimes less, sometimes more........

but this idea sounds good to me so i'm gonna go for it.

i was honestly thinking of just putting the disc in and keeping my KC pressure plate.

Do it. I put an autozone disc behind my nitrous 331 and ripped off a few 11 second passed with the stock 110,000 mile pressure plate and flywheel. I just scuffed it up a bit with some 180 grit on a sanding block. It was still holding when i replaced it with a clutchmaster stage 3.
