Hey everyone my question is: Is there a surefire way to make 300 hp without breaking the bank? I just got my 95 and im not trying to dump too much money into it and not get much gain.

I wouldnt worry about hitting 300hp. Its just a number. There's plenty of ways to do it, but I don't think its too easy without a semi-big wallet. Just do what you can, and have fun with it.

most of the options you have will run you in the $2000-$3000 range. So it all comes down to how much you really want to spend.

Nitrous will get you there.... and if its still not enough, you can always add larger jets :thumb:

hmm so for the weight of these cars how fast is the car in stock to lightly modified trim anyways? I haven't had a chance to drive the car myself yet and i wont for a while. :crying:

If you want a simple solution just slap a supercharger on it and be done with it. It will satisfy your power needs for ohhhhh maybe a couple weeks. Once you get into it you just want more and more and more. I would like to eventually build a 331 or a 347 for my car. Our cars stock are not that fast.

Set of used Edelbrock 205cc Heads($900), Comp cams XE264HR($260), and Sytemax, trickflow or edelbrock intake used($300-$450) and it will put you right around 300. So your looking at around $1500 if you install yourself.

Spray it.

Get a decent wet kit...like an NX or Zex wet kit. 300 RWHP is easy..

OK thanks I'm trying to avoid nitrous though and a supercharger is far far out of my budget, plus the car has 196,000 miles on it so I dont want it to blow up in my face. I might just save up about 1500 to get those parts though. Should i get my motor rebuilt and how much does that cost or do it at the same time?
