So my driver's seat is really worn down and there is a hole in the left bolster (next to my left thigh), a lot of the stuffing has fallen out and I can feel the skeletal structure of the seat. I unbolted my seats the other day and tried to figure a way to switch the passenger seat for the drivers. What I was able to do was simply unbolt the backs of the seats, unclip the fabric and simply lift the bottom skeleton and seat track as one piece right out of the foam, so really I just swapped the passenger side seat foam over to the driver's side seat and vice versa. Now I know my original drivers side seat foam was really worn but for some reason I'm sittinga helluva a lot higher now. I'm 5' 11" and I'm real picky about good driver seating position, and I was able to sit pretty close to the steering wheel, lean the seat back and drive with the steering wheel on its lowest position, now I can barely drive like that, my knees hit the steering wheel in the middle position and I almost have to drive with my hands stretched all the way out. Do the seat cushions have a different design from side to side?

I am so sorry that I don't have an answer for you...but you've solved my seat problem (same as yours, metal structure digging into my hip)! I was ready to go to an upholstery place, get it restuffed.

I don't think they're that different, I've sat in the passenger side, and it seemed to be about the same height. I'm 6'4", and sitting in the passenger seat wasn't a problem for me...then again, I was driving an MR2 Spyder for the last few years.

Well I think its just the fact that its not worn down at all b/c I barely have anyone riding in the passenger seat. I'm telling you though, its going to be a tight squeeze with your tall ass in there.

I used to have some tan leather seats a while back. I swapped the drivers side because it was in pretty bad shape. I went to the junkyard and picked up a passenger side seat and put it in. It felt a little different at first but the ride height felt the same. It eventually contoured to my butt

I had this issue when I had my seats redone. The upholstery guy did a great job and used some really dense foam for extra comfort and long life. Issue was I was sitting almost 2 inches higher then before and it took some getting used to. After 3 years it is just starting to get back to where I like it but the passenger seat it still all poofy.

Yea its already starting to feel like normal, guess it was just the fact that it only gets used every so often and the foam wasnt worn in at all.
