The 96-98 are a higher compression ratio, I believe 10-1, and do not come stock with forged internals, accept the crankshaft. So they are not compatable with big boost applications(more than 10psi)The Eaton supercharger off of the 03/04 Cobra will not work on the 96-98 engine, and it is extremely expensive to do the swap. The 99/04 Cobra/Mach1 uses the "C" head.Factory ratings are 305hp and 300tq at the flywheel. My 97 Cobra is putting down 258rwhp 250rwt on a mustang dyno and is bone stock.
