For the thermostat housing gasket, do I install it dry? Or use rtv along with the gasket?

Either. I prefer with a little rtv to hold gasket on place. I think it up to you

Just did mine..... Twice! Used a Gasket and a little bit of Ultra-Grey silicone and had "0" problems with leaks. For me, I have always used a little silicone on my gaskets just for a little extra peace of mind..... Just don't go over board and glob it on there..... little goes a long ways!

Quarter hose, when yours leaked the first time did you use just the gasket with no silicone? And is this the correct way the thermostat goes into the housing? I'm pretty sure it is, I just want to make sure.

I originally changed it due to flushing the Cooling system and then the 2nd time was because I wanted to install a 180* thermostat.... it never leaked on me. Yes, that is the Correct way it goes in. (there should also be an arrow or text indicating which way to install it)

^ yes! that's correct. The sensing copper is to the motor.

use a thin layer of sealant on both the intake and the neck. Make sure the stat does not kink or slide a little when you install it.
