The plug indicates that its never been dropped and the filter probably never changed. You will need to compress the accumulator just enough to take the tension of the snap ring. Insert the pliers tangs as far as possible, otherwise you risk snapping the ends off the tags. A bottle jack with a small deep socket works well for this. Otherwise a second set of hands, with strong arms to push the accumulator with a socket or hammer handle, etc.</blockquote>
