What you guys think of D.S.S shortblocks? My buddy is thinking of selling his 6k mileage 306 block which is from DSS for 1k.. I think my H/C/I would like the 306.. What you guys think?

i think that sounds like a hell of a deal, so do it. i have heard good things about dss

check to see what "level" it is. they have level 2 (cast crank, h beam rods, and forged pistons) all the way up to level 20, (forged pistons and crank, i beam rods, main girdle...etc...)
