Tire Dimension Rec's for 2003 Mach 1 Wheels

Hey gang, I know there are a gazillion posts about "what tires should I get?". I'm throwing my hat in the ring simply because I need to hit a post minimum to start listing things in the classifieds. My inquiry isn't necessarily on "what" tires to buy, but researching options for tire sizes. I have a factory set of 2003 Mach 1 wheels at my home. 17x8" Quick google says any width from 225-275 are applicable depending on the aspect ratio. I searched around here for people with wheels 8" in width and saw a mixed bag of results. My first instinct is 245/45R17. Just wanted to hear everyone else's inputs.

245/45/17 245/40/17 something like that , the rear was slighly wider and lower profile

Factory Mach 1 tires are 245/45/17 all around.

I seen a set that are a remake 10.5 rear in 17
I may get the rears I still have the front 17
And run the 305 45 17 rear

245/45 is the OEM size.

245/45/17, 255/40/17 Any wider isn't optimal, narrower is also not optimal.

As far as what tires... Michelin Pilot 4S or AS4. I've been using the AS4's. After 20 years of trying to find a decent performance tire with good grip and good treadwear. For an all season tire the grip is insane, especially when they're new. After about 1/4 of the tread life is used the grip reduces a little bit but it's still the best I've seen from a tire with the kind of astronomical treadwear rating that they come with.
