Noticed our 1995 GT does not have a trans cooler, aside from the tank in the radiator. Anyone add one? Where at? Add it in front of the AC condensor with brackets and an air gap between the two? Anyone add one that wants to share pics and possibly a brand and model number?

I added a B&M #70268 (13k btu) cooler 20+ yrs ago. It is 11" x 7 1/4" x 3/4" thk and a stacked plate cooler. Regretted later not having a 1 1/2" thk piece, so bought a B&M 70266 (20.5k btu) that is 11" x 8" x 1 1/2" thk.
Later by-passed the rad cooler, then a few years ago said f...it and re-installed the 3/4" unit in tandem. They are mounted to some scrap channel pcs about 1" in front of the condenser.
Have an aux filter below these mounted to the rad rebar. Also added a temp sensor at the aux filter and monitor temps on an Autometer trans temp gauge. Have not had any issues, but I don't beat on it until the trans holds some heat.
I'll take a pic in the next day or 2, here's an old shot of the filter.

Nice! Thanks. I have (had) a brand new cooler hanging in my garage from back in the late 90's that I never used but think I threw it away...lol. Had a Cam Dynamics cam degree kit that I think I threw out too...lol. Hadn't used it in over 20 years.
Gonna be installing a shift kit soon and this winter MAY upgrade the convertor so want to try to keep temps down in the tranny

Just took 2 pics. Channel runs vertical, screwed to rad support. Mounted coolers where I thought they would get best airflow.
Pic of temp gauge.

Nice. Thanks for sharing. I mounted the one in my Chevelle similarly but it didn't have AC so wanted to know if it was ok to mount it in front of the condensor.

Does anyone know if they make a trans temp gauge that mounts on the dash in the factory clock pod? That would be a cool place to put it?

Autometer?. Have heard of a piss poor fit to dash.

I'm a gauge freak. This works for me.

I'll check around but wanna try to keep it stock looking. Will see what's out there but likely won't really need one with how mild the car will be

Just checked the garage and that old cooler is still there. Never used it. Will clean it out good before using it though. It's about 8" x 10" 6 row with about 3/8 or 1/2" tubing. About 1" thick. Has barbed fittings though. Prefer threaded to hard plumb it but should be ok. Probably wait till winter when I start with upgrades

I added the Ford Racing cooler to mine. Is a stacked plate design. As written above, in front of the condenser with an air gap twixt the two. The mounting utilized existing holes. IIRC, may have included a speed nut clip for one of the holes. That's been so long ago I really can't remember. Works very well, though. Very straight-forward process. I had to cut the return hard line to plumb it in. I plumbed them in series with the in-tank first then going to the auxiliary second. Sorry I do not have any pictures.

Saleen used to make a dual gauge pod that fit in the clock spot (94-97, of course). They used the small size gauges. It was a little "bulbous" looking as it stood taller than the clock pod but it worked. I'm sure AutoMeter makes a gauge for it if you could still find the pod. Click the link to see what a quick fleaBay search found.
