I am looking into running a 4r70W tranny in my 94 Gt, my question is....is there a differance in a mod motor bell housing and a 5.0 bell housing? its probably a simple question but i don't know crap about mod motors, any tips or thoughts would be nice thanks!

you cannot use a 4.6 4r70w on a 5.0 motor it will not bolt up. You can however use a v6 tranny.

I would say any RWD ford with a 3.8 V6 would bolt up. I don't see any huge benefits of using one. I was just saying it would bolt up. From what I've heard the V6 mustang tranny from a 99+ really isn't that bad of a tranny.

there is no bell housing, but your right for wanting a 4r70w.

the best thing to do is use the 4r70w parts in your aode. this way you get the wide ratio gear set and a pile of other upgrades.

There arnt huge differences between the 4R70W and AODE.

The wide ratio gear set, the one way mechanical diode and the 1998+ 4R70W input shaft.

Other than that they are pretty much the same.

i want a automatic but i am liking the idea of having a overdrive so i pretty much should just stick with a aod since there isnt much difference between a AODE and a 4r70w tranny
