transmission woes

ok i started to have this problem with my old mustang, but it wasnt nearly as bad........this car wont even go in reverse when parked, not unless u put it in first and roll it a little bit......now does anyone know why?

I always have to do the old 1st, 1st, Reverse or at least another gear and then reverse. It is because reverse doesn't have a synchro like the forward gears. I have to fight with my trans going into reverse quite often... it is a bastard T45 but still...

drain the fluid and replace with fresh ATF. or the synthetic of your choice.

I had this problem alot with the stock shifter, after the MGW it has nearly gone away completely..

syncros arent lined up (or so I've been told. I'm no expert in trannys.). super common. In my T45-powered-junk-box I always put it in first, roll forward a tad, then go in reverse. lol.

I had the same problem. New clutch and fluid went in and it went away. reverse everytime now
