I have my car almost ready to fire up and im not 100% positive I will have to have a tune but whats a cheap tune option if I need one? My buddy has a shop and a superflow dyno and is more than willing to give me a driveability tune but I need an option. I see a lot of talk about chips, whats the deal with those? I plan on getting a full tune over the winter since Im completely rebuilding the motor but im looking for something cheap and quick for the chance that I do have to have one.

You need a chip to overide the factory tune. This cars cannot be flashed. Depends on what your tuner uses thats what youll need.

I would read into the Moates Quarter Horse, if you can grasp the concept of do it yourself tuning you'll be able to do it for cheap especially if you're going to do it twice. Plus if you have a hold of a dyno that might not cost a lot for you to borrow then that's a plus

if your buddy has a dyno that would be the way to go. I tried the cheap methode and ordered a chip from american muscle/bama tuning and it runs but I am still planning on putting it on the dyno as it is not perfect yet. Cheap and tune are two words that belong in the same sentence as teeth and penis... Do it right and do it once and you will save $$$ in the long run.

A original stock engine doesn't need a dyno tune or a performance chip, period. Is your signature incorrect?
