I noticed when this car has sit for a day or two and you crank it i can hear a "slapping" noise when it first cranks "about two slaps" then it stops and is quiet. It has really good oil pressure so I'm not sure what it is. any Ideas?

No :hammer:I have a 95 GT 5.0 t-5 trans,a 94 V-6 automatic trans. " my daughters car" and a 79 200 6 with automatic trans. "it was my sisters 1st car a work in progress just hasn't progressed much lately" :hammer:I once had a 68 automatic trans with a late model 5.0 but had to sell it when money got tight. :crying:

I also have a noise coming from my 95 v6. Whenever I hit the gas mainly in the top gears there is a rattling noise sounds like it is toward the front of the car. Any ideas what it could be?

thanks

What wouldn't suprise me is that you have a typical 3.8 lifter tick.

And as far as hearing a noise in the front end... you only hear it when you accelerate. I had a similar noise, and if you look under where the exhaust flange is connected. Mine was rusted off causing it to rattle around, and the bolts were keeping it from backing off.I just cut that shit.

as for the rattle try using premium fuel for a couple of tanks and then try it again. it could be spark knock my v 6 does this too. I know its had some head work but don't know if they had to shave the heads or not but if they did "which i think likely" it may be that the reason for the spark knock there is also a thing that looks like the spout connector I think it is just between the strut tower and the firewall that you can pull and it will drop a couple of degrees off the timing. if you want to check it that way. It looks just like the spout connector but the spout connector is under the mass air sensor. hope that helps :thumb:
