I'm looking for a little more swap info than my search yielded. I got my hands on a really nice looking 96 V6 convertible for nothing because the head gaskets are blown. I want to swap it to a V8 I read I don't have to swap the X member, just the mounts. If I have an entire V8 car to source parts from it should be pretty straight forward right? I just want to make sure that since the 98 is a bastard child as far as parts go, I don't want to have to get too creative. The 98 still has a return style fuel system, is this the same as the 96? When I go to put in a fuel pump should I just get a V8 pump for a 96 or just swap tanks and use everything like it is? I realize I will need the underhood harness, will I need to swap the harness inside the car? I remember reading something about the PATS being a problem, but since I'm swaping the cluster and the computer from the V8 car I'm figuring on just swaping the key switch and using the key from the V8 car as well, so it should be OK? I think I'm going to pull the engine and tranny together, since I'm swapping that as well, anyone have any tips for pulling them together successfully? Since the V6 car has 4 wheel discs do I have to mess with the master cylinder? I'm already swapping the entire rear end and the front brakes since the donor car has 13" front brakes. I'm making this a project for me and my son so it will be a chance for him to get his hands dirty and hopefully learn a thing or two along the way.Thanx for any help in advance.

OK thanx. This will be far from my first build/swap, but my first time on a Mustang newer than 93. Is swapping the booster a major pain or will it be fairly straightforward since I'll have verything out from under the hood anyway?

i dont know how hard it is as i havent done the swap, but if you are mechanically inclined enough to do an Engine swap, im sure you be fine.

i couldnt imagine it being that hard, especially if you will have an empty engine bay to work in
