In the market for a Vortech and probably going with the v3 sl si-trim. Was wondering why this one lists for close to a grand cheaper than the v1 t-trim? They both advertise the same horsepower increase yet the V3 is self lubricated which sounds like a better model. Am i wrong in thinking this or are there other diffferences im not seeing that makes the V1 worth the extra grand?

V3 SI-trim
Max Speed:52000 RPM
Max Boost:22 PSI
Max Flow:1150 CFM
Max Power:775 HP
Peak Efficiency:78%

Dimensions
Discharge OD:2.75"
Inlet OD:3.5"
Discharge ID:2.38"
Inducer Diameter:3.1"

V1 T-trim
Max Speed:55000 RPM
Max Boost:26 PSI
Max Flow:1200 CFM
Max Power:825 HP
Peak Efficiency:73%

Dimensions
Discharge OD:2.75"
Inlet OD:3.75"
Discharge ID:2.38"
Inducer Diameter:3.29"

hope this helps. as you can see the t-trim has a bigger inlet and the unit itself is capable of more boost and pushes a little bit more cfm. i personally have a t-trim for a little bit longer. i am personally not a fan of the self contained units, but i guess it does make install and all easier with not having to tap the oilpan.

What are you trying to do? Are you building a motor for it or are you just putting this on a stock motor???

I'm building a motor for it. Fordstrokers needs a cam sheet for the build. Im familiar with bolt on stuff but the internals of the engine are a new area for me. The car is a 94 and the goal is just to have a high (600+) horsepower car for weekend fun and some track time but not competively. Engine is a Boss block 331 stroker topped with trick flow street wedges, holley systemak intake and Fox 75mm throttle body set up. Transmission will be a magnum t56. Rear has pro auborn31 spline differential with the axles, t/a girdle, and 410 ring and pinion. Fuel is through a sumped tank and two walbro pumps with aftermarket rails, lines, and 60lb injectors.

heres the motor build sheet

331 Boss Block Short Block -
Machined Boss 302 Block
Scat 4340 Forged Steel Crank 3.250
Scat 4340 Forged Steel H Beam Rods
Probe SRS 2618 Forged Piston 14.2cc TFS
Perfect Circle Moly File Fit Rings
Clevite 77 Main Bearings
Clevite 77 Rod Bearings
Durabond Coated Cam Bearings
Fel Pro Rear Main Seal
Custom Ground HYD Roller Camshaft
Comp Cams Billet Timing Chain
Moroso 7qt Oil Pan -
Moroso Oil Pump Pickup
Melling M-68 Oil Pump
Billet Oil Pump Shaft
Fel Pro 1 Piece Oil Pan Gasket
TFS Twisted Wedge fast as cast 190cc Cylinder Heads
Head Bolts
Head Gaskets
Comp Cams Lifters
Scorpion Racing 1.6 Rocker Arms
4130 Chromemoly .080 Wall 1 Piece Formed End Pushrods

Motor is paid for along with most the other stuff. Still need to purchase the tranny and supercharger. My main problem is that I read too much into this stuff and get myself confused and start second guessing my original decisions.

I was thinking T also. I just done want to sell myself short on the supercharger when I beefed everything else up to handle the power. Also going to see what Jim from fordstrokers suggests when I do my cam sheet.

i have had 4 different vortech blowers over the years.

started with a "a-trim" and eventually sent it to vortech to get upgraded to a "s-trim"... eventually i sold it and bought a "t-trim". i loved that blower and eventually used it on my 331. made 632 on 93 octane without even trying hard. eventually i sold it for the ysi i have now. ysi is a different animal but for the street it is really hard to beat the t-trim
