So my turbo kit came with a 38mm gate and its pretty much non effective. It opens and 6psi but runs more like 8 to 10, and after 5000rpm it creeps up to 15 pretty fast. I emailed TiAL and the tech there told me I should get a 60mm gate. That seems way too large. Wouldnt a 44mm gate be fine? This engine is totally stock btw. .

I wouldn't see a problem with a 44mm, if a 38 is too small. I had to go with a 44 on my old Eclipse, the 38 just wouldn't cut it any more. How much boost are you trying to run?

Hope that helps. Sometimes the venerable 38mm Tial just isn't enough. Hope you get it figured out.

If you are not running too much boost a 38 should be fine. It's just probably the the spring in the weastegate that is bad or something. A 44 is a good upgrade though, 60 is way too much.
