My air bag light on my 1995 GT comes on at start and stays on. No blinking or codes, just stays on. This started when I changed the steering wheel and air bag while the battery was connected. I've checked the fuse (#1 under the dash) and tried swapping out the air bag with the one originally in it. Light still comes on. i could use some help on this Thanx Jim
I'd start with resetting the module and see if it goes away. Look for this connector under the glove box. It has a black and brown/red wire. With the ignition off, use a paperclip and jump the two terminals from the back side of the connector, like shown: You'll have to hold the paperclip across the terminals for about 5 seconds or so and you'll hear a series of beeps when it's been reset.
I appreciate the tip. I did do that several times. No beep, so I guess no codes were saved. Didn't help, either Thanx jim
I'm sure you know that doing anything with the airbags while the battery is hooked up is a no no. With no flashes or beeps, there's no codes to go on, so maybe the airbag control module itself is faulty ??
I have no idea. But go through this website, it should have every problem and solution. http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/airBag/airBag95.html
