what gear upgrade should i get?

just curious of what gear i should get i want 4:10 but not shure. my stang is a daily driver in the summer so im not shure if putting a 4:10 gear on would be the best thing to do let me know what you think thanks.

4.10's are just fine, i drive with them every day year round, in town and on highway

4.10s its what i got in my DD and love em. just remember that your speedo will need to be recalibrated. which you need the part from americanmuscle.com for that.

3.73, 4.10 is to much for a 5 speed 5.0. its like driving a dump truck

depends on what you plan to do with the car.. i currently have 3.73's they are fine but plan to swap to 3.55 so i will have more gear.. plan to road course mine... so if you plan to drag it then id go 3.73...

rule of thumb:

3:73 for 5 spd
4:10 for auto.

i met a guy with 3 73s, and he said he wished he had 4 10s after i took him through the pases with the 4 10s...

it is a little bit tough to drive the car with 4 10s and a 5 spd.... i have to shift ionto 2nd like, halfway through an intersection after a red light. lol. im at, like, 2900 RPM @ 60mph.

I do a lot of motorway driving for which 3:73 are perfect for reasonable cruising and mpg.

for the record: im N/A and im about to red line in 4th at the end of the 1/4... just keep that in mind. at (roughly) 95 mph, youre going to be redlining in 4th....

Ive had 3.55 and 3.73 and I like 3.73 the best. Ive never tried 4.10's but I have reasons for that.


Just get the speedo gear its cheaper and my MPH is dead on as well as my last Mustang I had that I did a gear swap on

If your planning on more than 300rwhp, you will run out of gear in the 1/4.

Imo 3.73 is the best gear all around, hands down.

3.73s i have them on my 94 and it used to be my dd, gas mileage wasnt as bad as i thought it was oing to be.


3.73's
