They wear down and have to be replaced. A clutch job shouldn't be $1500 unless you're getting a happy ending every day its in the shop. Trying to "cut your losses" with another used car is silly because you don't know any hidden issues when you buy it. You might get out of a clutch job on this one and have a rearend on the way out in the next one. Its a lot easier to fix what you have then to start all over with a different one.</blockquote>
