T45 sat out of the car for a year or so. now that its back in, it wont go into 1, 2, and it feels like it only goes partially into R.
3 4 5 N are all fine...

put it as far into R as i could get it, spun the wheels backwards, and it still wouldnt go into reverse.

put it into 3rd, spun the wheels forwards, made some grinding sounds (could have been my brake pads now that i think about it) and it will still only go into 3, 4, 5, N.

any one here got any ideas or suggestions?

Frank said maybe a shift fork, but it ran just fine when pulled from the car...

also, i put my shifter in, just left it in N and put the thing in the cup and bolted it down. did i forget a step?

Yea hes on the book, but did it sit outside? or inside? remember if those gears never got lubricated for a year or two, something could be locked up or have a little surface rust on it... change the fluid. put some new stuff in and just spin it in whatever gears actually work to try and get stuff moving again, would be my best suggestion... just go nice and easy and it should get better.
