Ive decided the way to get what I want power wise will be procharging. My 94 COBRA motor will have the bottom end rebuilt to 306 with stock crank, stock rods if they are strong enough and .030 forged low compression pistons. As for the rest of the motor, pretty much stock except supporting injectors, maf, and tb. I will be keeping all belt driven items. I will have a full exhaust with shortys and x-pipe.
What should I do to the stock GT40 heads and cobra intake while doing this upgrade? I do NOT want to sped more than $750 in the stock heads and intake. Is a cam worth the money with stock GT40's? If so, I will be going with a custom one. What injectors, maf, and tb should I get?
Oh yea, My goal is 400-425hp with a conservative tune from Swanson performance in Torrance, ca.
So with forged and low compression (~8:1 CR) bottom end and with essentially stock heads and intake with cam and exhaust, what PSI and procharger compressor would I need for my hp goal. Again, my stock heads and intake are GT40's and Cobra. Would I need a D1SC or would a P1SC be enough. which ever compressor I will need, I think I will use the 3 core intercooler. Is it the stock cam in these cobra 5.0's that make them fall on their face past 5500 or so RPMs?
