you shouldnt need a new differential, but a nice aluminum girdle (t/a, frpp, trick-flow) and some 3:73 or 3:89 gears would be perfect. i have 4:10's and they are awesome for off the line, but i think i want more all around performance, so i am planning to switch to 3:73's.

I'm looking at a full axle [3:73] from Summit, its cheaper than having it done over here, i can do it myself with no shim worries. :)

yes I'm looking to get blown sooner or later so i'm going with 3.55s because i want to eventually trap in the 120s and that will keep me in forth gear.

pfff...you just need more TIRE for more traction when you put in MORE GEAR.

I'm about to put in 4.10s...but I'm also going to step up to a 28x11.50 tire and REALLY huck it out the hole! As for your car....I'd say 3.73, 3.90, 410's.....you'll be happy with any of 'em.

It's really personal preference, but I'd say 3.73s. I have them in all my cars, fast or slow.

another vote for 3.55's since you are going with a s/c. with these cars i have always been told 3.55 with a s/c and 3.73's n/a. the 95 cobra T-5 has a 3.35 first gear. that will help out of the hole and then the s/c takes over and like what has been mentioned... you'll have more on the top end when you are 1 to 1.

i had some 4.10's and 1st gear was non-existant especially on the street.

+1

3.73s are always a safe choice... still have some top end, and help keep you in the powerband...

Unlike stock gears...
and Unlike 4.10s where highway driving will give you a headache...

Great compromise IMO

so 3.55's are the best to go with for the track, so i wont have to shift into 5th gear

The gears aren't for not needing to shift... and they do not make you accelerate any quicker despite common belief...

Their only purpose is to get you into the powerband faster and keep you there... which, in turn, will help you accelerate faster...

If shifting is a concern, get a short throw shifter like pro5.0 and learn how to shift well...

yeah but shifting into 5th will lose me so much time. its a pain in the ass and i hear people talk about how certain gears will prevent me from having to shift into 5th

i love my 3.73s and thats what i went with and i am getting ready to tt my car so i am going to see how they work with it. BUt i will probably end up going with a 3.55 gearing. On my car now i have spray and i finish winding out 4th with a 125 shot..

If you are looking into the future i say do 3.55s
