Message: <blockquote data-quote="fastgtfairlane" data-source="post: 349672" data-attributes="member: 9545">actually if you read through the entire thread, that 11.0 to 1 engine runs on 91 octane!!! the way he gets by with this is the aluminum heads. theres plenty of top line performance cars today running high compression on pump gas. the only accessories he doesnt have is the smog and a/c. his car is also very streetable according to what he says. with higher compression, you dont need as much timing anyways. turbos are cool, but i think it would be cooler to have a n/a 10 second car in full street trim. his car went 10.79 in full street trim on a dot drag radial tire on 18s!!! that is sick. turbos are not as easy to work on especially with all of the extra plumbing and such. but hey its ur car and you do what you want to. just something to consider. and if you got an aftermarket block you could put the nitrous on it and go even faster. dont get me wrong, i love a good turbo car but they are really expensive to build right. i mean in right as in getting the absolute most out of it.</blockquote>
