ARdoller said:i dunno... i dont care if someone takes a v6 and does stuff to it that makes it look like a GT, but once you start badging it, basically telling people that you think you actually do have a v8, then it just gets gay.
dual exhaust, fog lights, GT/cobra wheels, (side scoops and rear bumper on new edges) are all things that make a v6 look nice... not just because it looks almost like a GT or anything.
its not like they left those extras off the v6 because they wanted the GT to look different. they did it because it was cost effective to not have to put fog lights on a the v6, or side scoops on a new edge v6, or put bigger wheels on the v6. eventhough the price of those items are minuscule, after you produce thousands upon thousands of those cars, the price adds up. if it didnt cost them anything to put those things on the v6, im sure they would have.
none of that stuff is necessary for the car to work and be legal. the extra premium you pay for the GT, not only covers the v8 aspect, but to pay for all those small upgrades. the v6 for ford's intention, was to just be a model that kept the car afloat. it wasnt meant to be flashy. it was basically just, they made it almost as cheap as possible, leaving out the unimportant extras that the GT has, while still giving it a little bit of "style" and functionality.
no i know that, i've seen some really nice looking v6's its once you start thinking you have the v8 because you have a exhaust on it is stupid, but this new edge was really riced out, i dont think rice belongs on a mustang
